La muerte de Fénix Oscura vs la muerte de Supergirl..
George Pérez en el nº 7 de las Crisis en tierras infinitas de DC (1985) hizo un homenaje literalmente directo al nº 136 del X-Men de John Byrne (1980). En ambas muere un grandísimo personaje femenino de sus respectivas editoriales.
Y de este homenaje tenía un puñadito de homenajes más y unas pequeñas teorías hasta que un amable cibernauta (Alberto Salardi al que agradecemos la colaboración y le mandamos un fuerte saludo) nos remitió a una dirección donde había un monográfico de estas portadas y unas declaraciones de Perez sobre las similitudes de estas portadas y con una portada de Lois Lane (abajo reproducida). Aquí os dejo parte de la entrevista a Pérez en el idioma de Sexpir para que desempolvéis los diccionarios y se aprecie mejor el tono irónico (remarcado más por ese Laughter final) de la conversación. Lots of rare artwork and information, I highly recommend getting a copy if you haven't got one yet. Andy Mangels: Can you explain what happened with the starling similarities with CRISIS #7 cover to X-MEN #136 - which in turn looked liked LOIS LANE #128? George Pérez: Well, that was incredible sheer coincidence. I didn't even notice it until BUYER'S GUIDE or someplace showed both covers, and I thought, "My God!" it's an incredible resemblance. My main influence in doing that was a cover of THOR, where Odin is holding the body of his son… that was my inspiration for that cover. I didn't know or remember the X-MEN cover, and haven't the faintest idea when people mention a LOIS LANE cover, which cover they're talking about. So there was definitely a comic-book inspiration there - but not the one that everyone thinks it is. Andy: So that was totally all a coincidence then? George: Totally. I was rather stunned because the emotional expression on Cyclops and Superman were so similar. Now that was a sheer coincidence. Supergirl and Phoenix are both facing the same way, their head on the same side of the page, so it's like… a weird coincidence. The one exception being not a single one of the covers that people mention did any other artist go as crazy in drawing that many characters in the background. (Laughter)

Aquí vemos otro ejemplo en la que sería la primera “muerte” de Robin en el nº 156 de Batman.		Lois Lane 128 (Diciembre 1972) por Rosenberger . La que creo que es la inspiración de las dos míticas portadas.
Keith Giffen hace su versión en una portada de la Legión de Superheroes.		George Perez realizó un autohomenaje en el nº 4 de Mighty Mouse.

A finales de 2003 tenemos la portada del nº 22 del Tom Strong de Chris Sprouse y Alan Moore (-homenajes en las covers de Tom Strong-).		Otro homenaje encontrado en la portada del Batman 390 de Tom Mandrake.
Aquí tenemos la última incorporación de principios de 2005 con la portada del nº 4 de la miniserie Phoenix (Fénix) obra de Greg Land (un gran “homenajeador”). Curioso es que pese a que sea una miniserie de Fénix vemos que Cíclope tiene entre sus brazos a . . . Emma Frost, la Reina Blanca.
